Alcatel 606 One Touch CHAT review
Network and connections
A simple but fairly complete phone, designed to satisfy the needs of users looking for practicality and messaging lovers. The technical features of the 606 One Touch Chat include a GSM Dualband receiver, on frequencies of 900 and 1800 MHz. Signal coverage is satisfactory, however it does not allow for long international travel. UMTS support is missing, but it is still possible to browse the Internet via the GPRS modem, to open WAP pages with the dedicated browser. To exchange data with other devices you can use the very convenient wireless Bluetooth, or the USB 2.0 data cable output.
Design and features
A young and dynamic style, to fit without any problem into any context. The lateral Slider body makes this Alcatel compact and contained, with a thickness of 16.5 mm and a weight of 125 grams. Portability is therefore uncompromised, comfortable even in a pants pocket. The display is on the front, a 2.2-inch TFT capable of displaying up to 256,000 colors. Also on the front is a standard alphanumeric keyboard for quick functions. Inside, however, is the extended QWERTY keyboard, with keys that are comfortable to use to best manage every function and messaging. The rounded edges finally guarantee a secure and comfortable grip. Particularly notable are the eye-catching and youthful colors offered.
Main features
The proprietary platform offers complete basic features, so you can comfortably manage contacts, calendar appointments, and alarms with repeat settings. There are also a calculator, currency converter and stopwatch. Java support also allows you to install compatible software, to better personalize your device. Support for predictive text allows you to easily manage SMS and multimedia messages, or E-mails. The purely telephone aspect, on the other hand, offers speakerphone, voice recorder and support for multi-conferencing.
Entertainment and multimedia
Completing the description of the Alcatel 606 One Touch Chat, let's now talk about the multimedia aspect. With this phone it is possible to take photographs, thanks to the camera with VGA resolution. The images will be of low quality, with the possibility of also recording short videos. The available memory in standard configuration is 2 MB. It can still be expanded via microSD cards up to 8 GB. This way you will have the possibility to carry your favorite music with you, to be played with the dedicated multimedia player. There is also an AM/FM radio receiver, to listen to radio broadcasts on the move with RDS. Battery life is good, with autonomy of up to 480 hours in Stand-by.
